Be part of History

Hello viewers I am seriously thinking to make a history.

Think about times 500 years ago soon future will turn into past we all will die century over century will pass. All that will be left are memories which we will leave behind. How we can preserve these memories? Yes by taking a pictures and save them online somewhere like I do at SmugMug.What I am going to do requires your help! It is huge lifelong project that will start from Pakistan. I am planning to document whole city after city in ultra high resolution pictures that will be uploaded to my website and few other places to make sure secure storage for coming centuries. Picture will be accessible by general public for viewing.

Just imagine people looking at centuries old photographs! What feeling they will get and what contribution to history it would be. And of course you and I will be the people behind the effort.

For this I am looking for good Sponsor(s) even individual help is accepted.Contact me in following ways

The moment finally captured !

I love the way of nature and capturing special moments. Well i was after the moment when one ant transfers food to other. Due to extremely small size and very high magnification and difficult technique of reverse lens chances of getting sharp picture are very mild. After hundreds of wasted tries since past season and hours of observation i was lucky to get these pictures.

[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="384" caption="Ant transfering Wax obtained from mealy bugs"]Ant transfering Wax obtained from mealy bugs[/caption]

[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="280" caption="Ants transfering was obtained from mealy bugs"]Ants transfering was obtained from mealy bugs[/caption]

So what is happening there ?

Well these ants obtain some wax produced by mealy bug (those white things in picture) in exchange ants provide security to the bugs. This happens in monsoon season.

Philosophy

I was surprised to observe this whole system of ants society. And i was amazed to see many things which i missed to shoot. It was amazing demonstration of management !

How i got them ?

I used historic 50mm Yashica lens in reverse on my sony cybershot H5 camera. Focus was set to infinity and focus was acheived by moving back and forth. Lens was tapped infront of the camera. Do not be surprised this technique is been around for quite some time.

Sorry for low resolution version and watermarking, Newspaper thieves and advertsing agencies never show mercy stealing work of young growing artists. This is delimma of Pakistani creative market. Sorry once again i either don't like water marking but have to be on safer side.

North of Pakistan is Beautiful !!

Well after long time i got chance to visit northern areas of Pakistan. Kaghan, Naran, Lake saif al Malook and Lalazar. Places are full of beauty and traveling over there is amazingly easy. I will highly recommend you to spend your next vacations over there. Perfect place for camping and hiking.

Get up early in the morning to see dramatic light on mountains
Get up early in the morning to see dramatic light on mountains, That is real time to enjoy scenery and Photography and if you care about your health ! ;-)

If you love life i am sorry to say roads are very dangerous if you are planning to go to Lalazar. But good news is that you can hike and camp over there !.  Main road which bring you to Naran and Kaghan valley is very good for even large cars and jeeps. On Lalazar's jeep track only small light jeeps can pass through.

If you are small group it is much better and easy if you chose local transport to Naran, Where you can spend a night in a hotel oryou can camp there. From Naran there is no shortage of Jeeps and driver on rent, they will take you to Lake saif al malook and Lalazar one day is sufficient to see both places. I spent 2500 Rs or 40$ for 3 days including jeep rent, food and traveling expenses from and to Islamabad. these exclude hotel i got lucky and found good place to sleep.

If you are a Photographer

Well as most of you know i am one crazy photographer more then anything else. I will highly recommend you to have loads of memory cards and battery !!. I lost many photos as my battery fully drained in middle of the day. And had to delete a lot photos which i loved to clear memory.

I was loaded with Canon 18-55 kit lens, My buddy was loaded with 70-200 f/4L IS. I will recommend you to bag wide lens and telephoto 70-200 range you will enjoy it. It is wise to have good protective bag for your gear because drive won't be smooth and air won't be dust free. I bagged few polythene bags as well.

When to Visit

June July or August anywhere in these 3 months is considered best time. You should have jacket as it was really freezing in the morning.

Here are some images click images to go to full galleries
